Kevlar is a fairly old cutting-edge material that can be used in many different kinds of sports ,recreational and work activities. although this cutting-edge material is mostly known to be used on combat grounds by soldiers who are willing to risk their lives for their country,this is referring to the fact that Kevlar is used in most body armors. It protects the users from any conflict that may cause fatal injuries, Kevlar is a polymer this means that it is made up of homogeneous or same units called monomers.
The monomers that can be found in Kevlar are carbon oxygen hydrogen and nitrogen these units are attached closely to each other it shows that their final form is shaped in a long chain in Kevlar the monomer is made up of both an amide and phenyl group elides are an organic carbon based acid that is related to ammonia. Replacing the hydrogen atom with an acyl group individual polymer strands are held together by hydrogen bonds that form between groups of polar amide on neighboring chains these structures are what gives Kevlar its strong yet very dense properties along with other extraordinary acids.
Kevlar is a very strong material it is considered one of the strongest leading steel wire since it’s over eight times stronger than the steel that why you see so many gloves made from it. The main advantage that it has is the fact that it is relatively light for a material that can be considered one of the strongest both high and low temperatures barely affect how this material works scientists found no sign of degradation in the Kevlar when being exposed to both low and high temperatures excellent material for the kitchen(heat resistant). Kevlar can also resist attacks from various chemicals (chemical resistant)although long exposure could cause it to degrade when being combined as a composite with another materials. it can return into a waterproof material (water resistant)
Kevlar is very interesting material but like any others there’s also the negative side. The limitations that can be found in Kevlar is that when it is exposed to UV light the benefits of it will be affected severely the material will degrade and won’t work as well as it usually would Plus Kevlar is also a very expensive material and it is very hard to get a hold of. If you do not have the correct resources ,but overall there are a lot of advantages that outweigh the disadvantages. Another factor that can actually affect the effectiveness of Kevlar is inside the bulletproof vest, the layers but there are only two to three layers on the bulletproof vest it is possible that the bullet may penetrate the vest although if the layers are thick enough it can prevent the bullet from passing through bulletproof vest. The vests should have around 15 to 20 layers for it to be able to work properly. Kevlar chemical structure makes it form tiny straight rods that are reap very close together.
These rods form hydrogen bonds that gives extra strength to the Kevlar itself, this is what gives Kevlar it’s very unique strong properties. Kevlar is an artificial material that is spun into fibers before they are actually turned into projects.
Kevlar is one of the most useful cutting-edge materials that has been produced and manufactured by mankind this is based on the fact that this material has saved many innocent lives from being taken away or harmed. Along with providing certain advantages for different types of recreational activities including canoe racing where the Kevlar is used inside the canoe to enhance it and give whoever is using the canoes a plus-one. Racers, it’s also used in fencing outfits to prevent fatal injury caused by the weapon or sword which is a very sharp object also protective gear worn by many sport players such as rugby players hockey players and etc to again increase safety and decrease chances of injury.Although there are some disadvantages that can be found in this material without it we would not be able to right provide maximum safety for athletes, soldiers and workers to feel safe with whatever they are doing, Kevlar really is an interesting and unique material
